Putrajaya is Malaysia's designated Federal Government Administrative Centre. Built on 4,932 hectares of land in Prang Besar. There are numerous new government complexes located in this new township. The most imposing structure in Putrajaya is the pinkish Putra Mosque. Standing beside Dataran Putra and facing the Putrajaya Lake, it corporates architectural elements form Turkistan, Kazakhstan and Morocco.
Putrajaya Lake is a 400-hectare man-made lake at the hearts of Putrajaya. The lake, which serves as a climate moderator, has a Class 2B water quality graded by the Interim National Water Quality Standards. It is suitable for body contact, a requirement of all water sports events. Currently the lake offers activities such as canoeing, kayaking, sailing and boating.
